Thank you very much for reporting this bug. I removed the last two items you had mentioned from this report. Since they are separate issues than this one. The bugs are still important, so please make individual bug reports for each one. I also moved this from ubuntu-meta to gnome- control-center, as that is where it belongs. Thank you again for your time, and helping improve Ubuntu.
** Description changed: Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop Ubuntu allow the user to select its prefered application but when user's prefered application is a web service (gmail or google calendar for instance) user can't use it within Ubuntu with the same level of integration. For instance there is no easy way to select a popular webmail as default mail application. However you can find on the web a trick to use Gmail as GNOME’s default mailer for mailto links http://matthew.ruschmann.net/blog/Linux/gnome-gmail-1.1.html (that trick works on a system level, not only in Firefox like Firefox 3's new ability to register webapps as link handlers) - - Also, nautilus-sendto should be abble to work with popular Popular Web- - mail Services (see Bug #275775 which is related) - - Ideally, the clock applet in panel should be configurable to display - events from google calendar - - ... ** Summary changed: - Ubuntu doesn't handle web services (no integration with the desktop) + Allow Webapps as preferred Applications ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: ubuntu-meta => gnome-control-center -- Allow Webapps as preferred Applications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
