Further debugging -- no answers I added a line to my gdm init script to list the names of all the services on the GDM system bus. In both situations the lists is basically identical. I think this rules out dbus_bus_name_has_owner() failing. The command line is: dbus-send --print-reply --system --dest=org.freedesktop.DBus /org/freedesktop/DBus org.freedesktop.DBus.ListNames And the results are attached. ** Attachment added: "gdm.dbus.names.first.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18797911/gdm.dbus.names.first.txt ** Attachment added: "gdm.dbus.names.second.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18797912/gdm.dbus.names.second.txt -- libhal_ctx_init() returns FALSE, causing Xserver to fail to set up keyboard/mouse https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276857 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
