yes it works fine in vista, but in ubuntu even when very close to the router it sits at about 20-30% signal and at the farthest point which is across the room in my studio apartment it is even lower. in 8.04 it worked fine with the built in network adapter, also i have never got the pcmcia card to work even before the upgrade, it is the bcm43xg
