Much of the documentation on the Ubuntu wiki pages refers to "Debian
format packaging" and "Debian format packages".  A "deb" file is a
common colloquial reference to such a file.  The use of colloquial
constructions in package descriptions is quite common.

Further, I strongly agree with Lars that it is inappropriate to refer to
packages not produced by the Debian project as "Debian Packages".
Whether ".deb packages" is correct or not is open to some debate, but
the solution requested in the description is not appropriate for
application.
