This is due to the panel background image having its bottom line a
little too dark.
That makes everything that uses a white outside (most notably the
workspace switcher, but also the active window in the window list) seem
to stand outside the panel.
This can be workaround-ed with a slightly less dark bottom line in
panel_bg.png...
Or this can be fixed by having the workspace switcher (and the active window in
the windows list) use less white surroundings.
