Thanks Dan. Yes, it's difficult to obtain good information here while keeping bug mail to a minimum on this large bug report.
It really looks like a problem with Geforce 5/6/7 cards only, when using 173 and 177. Thanks again to everyone that provided extra info. No more card info is needed, unless you have something new to report.
