The GM45 Sony Vaio bug is another separate issue and it's not fixed upstream yet. Jesse Barnes mentioned it explicitly when he released the 2.5.0 version upstream 3 days ago, see this e-mail: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2008-October/039555.html (good news is that upstream know about it, I'm certain it will be fixed in the next upstream release).
