Also, if you use Intrepid to test this issue, please do the following after you have tested with the default installation:
Open System -> Administration -> Software Sources -> Third-Party Software and add the following link: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/arnegoetje/ubuntu intrepid main Then refresh your packages list and update the scim-bridge-agent ans scim-bridge-client-gtk packages. Then log out and in again and see if the problem is fixed.
