Same here: Network Manager reads 28%, and Network Monitor shows ath0 at 65%. Behavior/speed-wise, the 65% number seems more accurate.
OS: Up-to-date Hardy, running an Atheros AR5416 802.11abgn pci card. Wonder if this behavior is consistent regardless of hardware -- I'm running a dated Compaq Armada M300 laptop with a P3 processor, upgraded to 256 RAM and 60G HD. The thing works, but it did take some tweaking. Prior to the recent Hardy updates, I was relying on ndiswrapper and compat-wireless to drive the card -- and the snazzy little lights worked. A recent update came in, was installed automagically by "Update Mgr" and summarily blew out my wireless functionality...and shortly thereafter my entire config was freezing up and acting odd. Prolly my fault, newbie that I am, but I don't know what caused it. Couldn't figure out how to repair, so I burned a new ISO Ubuntu disk and did a ttl re-install (my earlier OS had been from an earlier vers of Ubuntu, which was updated to current b4 crashing). The new version fixed all of my behavior probs, and config -- but the wireless Just. Would. Not work. Installed and reinstalled ndiswrapper and compat-wireless. Nothing. Finally, tried MadWifi, and it worked like a charm -- but now w/out the little blue lights. Very curious.
