Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ghc6
ghc6 is packaged with the bytestring library (libghc6-bytestring) version 9.0.1 (on Intrepid, and I think, Hardy). However, this version has a performance bug that can cause quadratic behavior when you'd otherwise expect linear. If at all possible, this library should be upgraded to a current version, and its dependencies recompiled.
