** Description changed:
Binary package hint: libgstreamer0.10-0
+
+ [I think I managed to produce a backtrace]
Ubuntu 8.04.1
libgstreamer0.10-0 (0.10.18-4ubuntu2) was automatically marked for
upgrade (previous was libgstreamer0.10-0 (0.10.18-4ubuntu1)), and after
installed, (at least) Totem and VLC simply close when starting a video.
You might be able to glimpse one frame. I've tested the YouTube plugin
and 3gp file for Totem and 3gp file for VLC.
Terminal output is this:
totem
** (totem:8768): DEBUG: Init of Python module
** (totem:8768): DEBUG: Registering Python plugin instance:
YouTube+TotemPythonPlugin
** (totem:8768): DEBUG: Creating object of type YouTube+TotemPythonPlugin
** (totem:8768): DEBUG: Creating Python plugin instance
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
(Details: serial 54 error_code 2 request_code 140 minor_code 19)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
To resolve the problem for now: downgrade libgstreamer0.10-0
(0.10.18-4ubuntu2) to libgstreamer0.10-0 (0.10.18-4ubuntu1).
