Yep. It appears that the dump would have been 4,720,300 kB. I would have had to have had more than 3,131 MB of RAM in use before it had more to work with than my resources at the time would have permitted... I had ~2880MB in use. More than enough space to take a core dump that is ~5 GB.
Smells like the memory leak on Edgy for 64 bit systems. Or was that Feisty? I can't remember. But it's back, or something very similar to it is. Makes sense now, because before it crashes, it starts acting strangely and slowly, and the GTK+ stock icons disappear from the menu items. ** Attachment added: "_usr_bin_pidgin.1000.crash" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18872409/_usr_bin_pidgin.1000.crash -- Apport says "not enough memory", yet 5 GB free https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/287883 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
