According to the Stable Release Update policy - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates - we need to verify this bug is first fixed in the current development release before we can consider backporting a fix to Hardy. Since you are the original bug reporter, would you be willing to at least test the latest Intrepid RC candidate? http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . You should be able to test suspend via a LiveCD. The Intrepid kernel was most recently rebased with the upstream 2.6.27.2 upstream stable kernel so I would hope if this is resolved with the upstream kernel it would at least be resolved with the Intrepid one. Otherwise, lets try to work together to figure out where the discrepancy is between the upstream kernel and the Ubuntu one. Thanks.
