My suggested solution above doesn't work on subsequent attempts to
suspend/resume.  I can't work out why it resumed perfectly once when I
had no quirks enabled, and now does not. Perhaps that's why these things
are called quirks?

Anyway, the original problem still stands ... Suspend/resume on the
latest level of the Intrepid release candidate doesn't work on this
hardware.  I'll keep working on it to see if I can get a reliable
solution/workaround. Sorry for the false hope.
