Binary package hint: gnome-ppp
USB modem is recognized by intrepid ubuntu-desktop installation, but when
attempting to connect with gnome-ppp I get the messages:
--> PPP negotiation detected.
--> Unable to run /usr/sbin/pppd.
--> Check permissions, or specify a "PPPD Path" option in wvdial.conf.
and cannot connect. Have default installation and all updates up to
today.
