Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg

I was delighted to see when I upgraded to Hardy to Intrepid that (after
enabling some setting using my password) I was able to have a dual-
headed system using my Intel graphics card.

However, with the external monitor plugged in (it was displayed at full
resolution, the maximum resolution on my laptop screen was 1024x768 (as
opposed to its 1200x800 native resolution). I assumed this was the
maximum my graphics card supported with 2 monitors, but when I unplugged
the external monitor and re-detected the displays (using gnome-display-
properties, since the hotkey no longer works under Intrepid), then
logged out, pressed Ctrl-Alt-Bckspc, then logged back in again, the
resolution stayed at this lower resolution. I have still not managed to
get the full resolution back.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 (upgraded today), xserver-xorg 1:7.4~5ubuntu3.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
