I also just noticed that my theory is not quite true. I shutdown, restarted and waited for the boot menu to pass after 10 s thinking that I will not have an error but I found myself in front of the initramfs prompt! I shutdown and then booted into my windows partition, shut down windows and started ubuntu again, waiting for 10 s and it booted normally. This seems pretty random!
