I have the same problem with my Ubuntu Intrepid RC amd64 on my PC...
Hard: MOTHERBOARD : GYGABITE ga-ma69vm-s2 with last BIOS upgrade
CPU: AMD Athlon 5200+ 64 X2
RAM 2x 1GB
HD: 250GB SATA II
