Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: glibc-doc-reference
If you try to install glibc-doc-reference while glibc-doc is already
installed, you get a dpkg error stating that the /usr/share/doc-base
/glibc-manual file already exists in the glibc-doc package.
The way around it for people right now is:
1. Rename the /usr/share/doc-base/glibc-manual to /usr/share/doc-base
/glibc-manual-original
2. Run dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/glibc-doc-
reference*.deb
3. Rename the new /usr/share/doc-base/glibc-manual to /usr/share/doc-
base/glibc-manual-reference
4. Rename the /usr/share/doc-base/glibc-manual-original to /usr/share
/doc-base/glibc-manual
It would be nice if this minor bug was fixed in the debs themselves. I
guess only the glibc-doc-reference deb needs changing.
