** Description changed: WARNING: this bug affects all the distros shipping with KDE 4.1.2 (Kubuntu 8.10, Mandriva 2009.0 and openSUSE 11.1) so this is definitely an upstream bug (any Qt/KDE team member 'round here?) Launching a Qt4 (non KDE4) application (Picard, Avidemux2 Qt version and so on) while running a KDE 4.1.2 session results in a wrong applied colour-scheme (see the attachment), to be more precise all the scheme's colours selected through SystemSettings' colors panel are applied the right way except for the selection colour, which is turned in a deep blue colour (in the color range #00007B ~ #0000A3, I was unable to find a flat-coloured style to identify the specific colour) only for Qt4 apps. After doing some research through strace logs I've found that all Qt4 related apps read ~/.conf/Trolltech.conf a few times during startup and by deleting all the colour-related lines in the [qt] section of this - file the problem seems to be solved (of course this 'hack' should be - repeated each time modified settings in SystemSettings' colour and style - panels are applied or qtconf-qt4 is used). + file the problem seems to be solved (only on Kubuntu and of course this + 'hack' must be repeated each time modified settings in SystemSettings' + colour and style panels are applied or qtconf-qt4 is used). It's a weird, weird bug IMHO. I tried to find something about this one on google but the only thing I've found is an unconfirmed bug report on bugs.kde.org (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168200) dating back to August. I hope this small report could be of any help.
