Hi Bryce, Thank you so much for your time. With recent 2.6.27-7 64-bit kernel and nvidia-glx-177.80 installed I can now suspend and hibernate my laptop. This is a relief indeed! Without proprietary nvidia driver however laptop returns to black screen upon resuming from suspend mode, with back light turned off. It can then be safely shut down by pressing the power button followed by hitting 'Enter' key. Not a big deal, just a warning to those reading. Default nv driver does not support my GeForce 7000M anyway. Attached are the logs as per your request.
