I'm having the same problem using the Kubuntu Intrepid RC1 Installation CD. The (k)ubuntu installer fails to launch (even when vesa safe graphics mode is selected), and I am presented with a black screen (with a blinking cursor).
Switching to a terminal and executing startx yields: (EE) No device detected. Fatal server error: No screens found. -- System specs: AMD Phenom X4 9550 AMD 780G Northbridge (Radeon 3200 IGP) Radeon 3650 Graphics Card -- Looking at the Xorg log file (attached), the problem seems to be similar to that described by Jean-Baptiste Lallement.
