It seems however that the problem you are encountering is coming from the
release file from apt-cache, which is generally due to a network or mirror
problem and there is not much to do in vmbuilder to fix this. I am therefore
marking this bug as invalid for vmbuilder.
If you think that the problem might be coming from apt-cache, feel free to
reopen a new task for this bug for apt-cache (using "also affect distribution"
in Launchpad).
