Public bug reported:
dapper:
------------------------------------------------------------
In dapper, scanning for networks does not seem to work:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo iwlist ra0 scan
ra0 No scan results
But I can connect to my WEP-encrypetd network:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo iwconfig ra0 essid "karate-socks"
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo iwconfig ra0 key 56C24C2F2E
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dhclient ra0
[...]
DHCPACK from 192.168.1.1
bound to 192.168.1.141 -- renewal in 39290 seconds.
After I'm connected, I can see my access point by scanning:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo iwlist ra0 scan
ra0 Scan completed :
Cell 01 - Address: 00:06:25:7D:D6:71
Mode:Managed
ESSID:"karate-socks"
Encryption key:on
Channel:6
Quality:98/100 Signal level:-102 dBm Noise level:-192
dBm
I know there are more networks available from where I sit because I could see
them (and always see them) using the built-in card for this laptop (which I
have disabled before testing this CardBus-based Ralink).

edgy:
------------------------------------------------------------
On edgy, it's rather opposite: I can see networks when scanning, but cannot
connect to my WEP-encrypted network. I have not yet tried a non-encrypted
network, but I am going to try that and some other tests, including
compiling/installing a newer version of the driver. I will try to keep this
bug updated.
