I type 1234567890abc (the correct password and type) into networkmanager when it asks after I tell it to connect, and hit enter, and it fails, and I look what it used and it says it used some really long string of completely unrelated characters. I didn't observe if it was limited to hexadecimal or full alphanumeric characters, but i know it included at least up to 'c'.. ..so then I go to 'edit wireless networks' and find that network and go to the password, and change it and click 'ok', and I go straight back to the same window immediately and click 'show password' and it's another long string of completely unrelated characters. networkmanager has full access to my keyring and all that, so I don't see why it promptly ignores all the passwords I give it.
It was my uncle's WPA network.. I'll try to reproduce it and log it the first opportunity I get, but what is my complete syslog, or rather, where is it, what file? Another thing I could attempt is setting up my desktop to admin my router and go through all the security methods there.. It'd be a little bit of a pain, but I suppose it's worth it to help nail down this bug. -- network manager corrupts wireless passwords https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289660 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
