Here is a snippet from the end of the kernel complaints. If more is
needed I can provide more extensive error messages, although it is a bit
laborous (what with no working disk to store the messages on).

  My Dell Latitude D620 does not wake up from resume successfully. X comes
  back up but the hard drive does not work. No apps can be launched,
  reads/writes in already open apps fail. I will post kernel output in a

- This was present in gutsy. I now tried the new Intrepid beta release,
