Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since
this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work,
I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.
I could not reproduce this bug in up-to-date versions 8.04.1 and 8.10
installed on hard drives. I did reproduce it in Xubuntu 7.10 with all
updates, installed in a VirtualBox.
Perhaps attaching a copy of /var/log/auth.log after the no password
login happens will assist in fixing this bug.
