I can still reproduce it with version 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu5 Lid action was working ok when I created a new user. It stopped working as soon as I clicked on power manager systray icon and adjusted brightness settings etc from the Guidance Power Manager window. Now whatever action assigned to lid close is not performed.
