Ah, thanks for the attachment. Unfortunately it doesn't even have a core
dump, because you already fed it through the apport GUI which removed it
(because it became too big).
Anyway, I think it makes sense for apport to put a boundary on core dump
sizes (currently "available memory" times 3/4), otherwise you'd
potentially wait for ages if your machine starts swapping, and would
rightfully become very angry about our stupid crash reporting system.
So I close this bug for now, since it seems that the dump was actually
that big (which can happen due to memory corruption, too; I can hardly
imagine that pidgin takes 5 GB of RAM...)
