I'm running 8.10 RC x86-64 and I'm also having problems with synaptic search, both the new quicksearch and normal search. Both only work partially in that only a small proportion of the available packages that I search for are found. I've had many packages (such as videolan and dvd95) fail to be found under the latest synaptic but they install fine from command line.
A broken synaptic in a Ubuntu RC - yikes! Whats happening guys? I can't help but feel the introduction of quick search is to blame for this bad ass flaw and I never had a problem with hitting CTRL+F to open a 'quicksearch' box anyway. -- [Intrepid] Synaptic unusable - Can not find packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
