Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

After my upgrade using, update-manager -d, network manager would not
connect to my wired or wireless connection.

I had to manually configure my /etc/network/interfaces so I could get an
internet connection.

After doing this I added these lines to my sources.list file.
 deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/network-manager/ubuntu intrepid main
 deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/network-manager/ubuntu intrepid main

and upgraded these items and now it works.

Let me know if you need more information.

Last if I just boot the intrepid live CD network-manger worked fine.
Output from lspci,

One last piece of information, I had the 0.7 version of network-manger
installed from launchpad in hardy before I upgraded to intrepid. Not
sure if that is important or not.
