I have the same problem, but in my case i can't connect to wireless and wired network using Automatic IP via DHCP. If i set the IP details manually, everything is working fine and i _always_ get connected. Initially i though that there is a problem with dhcp, however, i can obtain dhcp lease by manually running dhclient <interface>. Just to verify, when connecting to wireless interface, i use wpa2-psk and I can obtain the key from the AP after looking at the output of iwconfig. While the network manager tries to get the IP address, i've tried running dhclient wlan0 and successfully obtained dhcp lease. The recent updates did not solve the problem (31/10/2008).
