After upgrading to intrepid, the problem is improved, but not completely resolved. Now the chess window flashes to black for approximately a half-second whenever I click on the board, but the board reappears after. Whenever I click anywhere else on the screen other than the board, all or part of the chess windows turns black permanently until I click on the board again (or where the board would be), which triggers a proper redraw.
