Public bug reported: In Kubuntu Hardy there are at least three ways to configure laptop settings: laptop-mode, pm-utils and kpowersave.
The instructions here: [1] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerManagement#How%20to%20get%20disks%20idleing%20correctly%20(without%20excessive%20load%20cycling) Contradict the instructions here: [2] http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=5031047&postcount=3 which point to: [3] http://en.opensuse.org/Disk_Power_Management Following only [3] has no effect whatsover, independently if you have followed [1]. Following [1] seems to work however the default settings are too aggressive (-B 1 for battery!!). ** Affects: laptop-mode (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- laptop-mode is a mess https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292275 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
