Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17

The rtl818x driver which is included in the Ubuntu kernel does not work
with NetworkManager and WPA. The reason for this is that NetworkManager
only accepts drivers using the wireless extensions for WPA, and the
rtl818x driver uses an old version of the IPW WPA stack.

The proper fix for this would be to hack the main driver to compile
against the current version of the IPW stack, which is now in the
kernel.org kernel, and backport the relevant code WPA from the in-kernel
IPW2100 driver. I will look at this when/if I have time.

I don't know if this is realistic for the Ubuntu kernel, but I am
posting this for information anyway.
