Another behavior- sometimes the computer wakes up and then immediately
goes back to sleep. After that happens, the next time it wakes up it
seems to have an even chance of crashing or of resuming normally.
Attaching a new syslog which demonstrates both problems. The crash at
Nov 1 17:00 is still in this log; but further on, at around Nov 1
18:59 the computer is woken up (lid opened) and then immediately goes
back to sleep without prompting. The next wakeup attempt is successful
some hours later, at Nov 1 20:38.

Here's the relevant excerpt from syslog:

I want to stress that the computer was sleeping between 18:59 and 20:38, and
that the wakeup at 20:38 was successful.

is this too weird / hardware specific to file a bug report?
