I have only the highest of respect for all volunteers, including you. (And perhaps being a lead developer in a very irrelevant open source project for several years does not give me the right to bitch).
However, I think the direction the KDE team took is misguided, especially if they are volunteers. I simply can not recommend Kubuntu to anyone until it works for me, and if network & monitor configuration do not work it is a no go from the start. And those 2 has been broken in KDE/Kubuntu for ever (which I mean never ever worked for me for any laptop, and monitor even for some desktops). Making the essentials work comes before useless desktop effects. I am afraid KDE getting behind GNOME. I used to be able to install both, but the last time it was a total nightmare as nowadays they get in each other way when plugging a USB drive or inserting a CD/DVD. so I have to choose. If there was an alternative to Klipper I would do a complete re- install tomorrow. -- system settings creates a broken xorg.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178613 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
