i just tried the stuff mentioned on Bug #260918: so i first installed https://edge.launchpad.net/%7Elool/+archive/+files/libv4l-0_0.5.2-1~dooz1_i386.deb and tried LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so & LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2convert.so in front of the commands
