Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu Hardy with full disk encryption combining md-raid + crypto-fs (1) which worked fine also when upgrading ubuntu hardy kernels. (this has been configured using hardy installation utility.) Now I upgraded to intrepid using adept-manager and the system refuses to boot. I verified crypto kernel modules and conf.d/.../crypto* being added to initrd. The kernel claims "mapper/md0_crypt and (0,0) - no such disk" after grub startet. I still can boot if I use an old hardy kernel.
Disk layout sda -> partitions: encrypted swap + md0_diskA sdb -> partitions: md0_diskB md0: raid 1 of md0_diskA and md0_diskB Both, md0 and swap are encrypted, so there are /dev/mapper/NAME entries for swap and md0 (my root disk). I also tried EncryptedFilesystemHowto for gutsy but it looks like the kernel doesn't try detect the md0 raid at all and therefore does not open md0_crypt. Does kernel 2.6.27 in intrepid still support booting from md- softwareraid + cryptodisk? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- boot from crypto disk + md/raid1 fails after upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293057 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
