I can confirm this bug. The bug even not only occurs when replaying to a message, but also when making a new message.
Changing general.useragent.vendor from Ubuntu to Firefox solves the problem indeed. Unfortunately this isn't very user friendly and now the vendor is changed on every site that is visited. An add-on which would change the useragent only for Windows Live Hotmail would be a better solution. The perfect solution would be that Microsoft has a correct detection, like on eg. http://www.useragentstring.com . Changing from Windows Live Hotmail to another mailaccount isn't always what people want. Although I don't use it, I know at least two people who frequently use it. Keep in mind that everyone who installs/uses Ubuntu and uses Windows Live Hotmail is confronted with a bug of which the solution isn't easy to find. Especially when they aren't very technical. How come the bug didn't occured with Firefox 3.0.2?
