(I've tried without the comment at the end, another issue is that I
don't get a getty after boot).
The machine was built with the python VM builder, default options and
rsynced to a fresh ext3 LVM slice. If I boot with "single" in the
parameters I can get a prompt and browser, but any attempt to do
"ifconfig eth0 up" or "ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.106" results in:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address
