Public bug reported:

This bug occurs if ipw2200 has been deactivated using the script
/etc/acpi/wireless.sh which simply does a "echo -n 2
/sys/class/net/eth1/device/power/state"

Whenever the module is unloaded (with that file set to "2"), and it is
unloaded at every suspend/resume cycle, something goes wrong:

the module will load without any errors, but with the power enabled (state file
set to "0"), and without the possibility to disable it. In fact if I do a
# echo -n 2 /sys/class/net/eth1/device/power/state
this will result in an error:
bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument

I have not tested if there is a similar problem with a hibernate/resume.
I will test it as soon as I can

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.19 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
