I can confirm this. It also happens with Ctrl+mouse clicks I surmise that whichever program is responsible for the "show pointer" feature creates a tiny window under the mouse or something, which inappropriately absorbs mouse clicks and keyboard presses. But that's just a guess. I haven't looked at the code.
