i linked this as a duplicate of a bug in the mail-notification project that
seems identical and has an attached patch.
(incidentally, i don't think they're duplicates as this bug refers to the
ubuntu packge and not the program itself, but i couldn't figure out how to make
a dependency or something like that.)
