Public bug reported:

I have an Acer Aspire One laptop (running Xubuntu 8.10) and an Acer
Power 5 desktop (running Ubuntu 8.10).

On the laptop, I like to remote login to the desktop with the "Secure
Remote Session" offered in my Xubuntu laptop. This works great except
the keys are messed up!

j get turned into '1'
k gets turned into '2'
l gets turned into '3'

It's as if the Function key has been held down. But a bit of testing
shows that this is not the case, as some function buttons (like 'Home'
only register when Fn + Pg Up). The keyboard works fine in a local
Xubuntu session. And on my remote machine it also uses a EN-US layout.

I can revert this by holding down the laptops 'Fn' key. (T
