i think the patch from bug 290177 might actually fix this too. please
test.
If it doesnt help, please stop NM and run it from terminal like:
sudo su
NM_SERIAL_DEBUG=1 NetworkManager --no-daemon 2>&1 | tee /tmp/nm-serial.txt
and attach the serial file after reproducing both attemps.
