Thank you for the reply. I didn't find the Kernel Changelog entry related to pata_via... I should look for it better, next time.
-------------- Sorry to bother you again, but I need another help. I do not know if DMA works now, but I think that is OK, because my system is as fast as before the upgrade edgy->feisty. But, now, I have a non-working CD-ROM drive. It is a Benq model 656A. It worked with ide_generic and via82cxxx. If I use pata_via, the booting stage stops when trying to detect the Benq CD-ROM. After 20 seconds, linux continues the boot stage. I also has a LG GCE-8527B CD-RW drive, but it works as well as before. ** Attachment added: "Full "dmesg" output" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5152430/dmesg.txt -- Linux-image-2.6.19-6-generic package should include via82cxxx.ko https://launchpad.net/bugs/72888 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
