** Description changed:

  1) Ubuntu Release: Ubuntu 8.10
- 2) Package: xorg (Ubuntu)
+ 2) Package Release: 1:7.4~5ubuntu3
  3) What was expected to happen: Ibex would load up normally, detect the
nvidia graphic drivers, and if undetected would install those drivers

  4) What happened instead:
  (See http://www.pastebin.ca/1242728)

I upgraded Hardy 8.04 to Intrepid Ibex a day before the release date.
When I was asked to reboot, the reboot sequence was interrupted. It said
something like, "Cannot find/install graphic drivers, please rollback
your setting ", and only let me finalise start up given I switched to
the default graphic driver. When i selected the default graphic driver
option, Intrepid Ibex loaded up. However, it could be seen from the
initial log in screen that the graphic drivers had not been loaded. The
background looked pixelated and ineffectively rendered.

+ - 5: It fired up the GUI login screen
+
+ It would not fire up the GUI login screen unless I specified the default
+ graphic driver setting. I don't think it let me open a console either.
