Public bug reported:
I'm using Xubuntu 8.10 on a HP dv6545eg Notebook: Turion 64X2, 2GB, 120gb HDD,
NForce Chipset, Gf7150 graphics, built-in Ricoh Card-Reader, Broadcom Wireless.
All worked fine with Xubuntu and Ubuntu 8.04.
But this is the problem with 8.10 (i turned splash boot screen off, but
it's not relevant for the problem):
The System hangs at boot up on "Loading, please wait". It hangs there
till you press and hold any key. It resumes booting, while you're
holding the key. If you release the key it hangs again. Once the boot
process got to a point short before it changes the font, it resumes
normaly, without you having to hold a key.
I had this problem with booting the live-cd as well, but with holding a
key i got to the installation assistent and installed the system without
any problems.
Hope my english is good enough do discripe it properly.
Greetings from Germany
