Thanks Chris,
Pretty new to Linux and didn't really think it was going to be a bona fide
bug but couldn't work out what was wrong at my end.
Cheers
Steve

Subject: [Bug 293575] Re: libglib2.0-dev not present in repository

Thanks. The package you are looking for doesn't exist because it has
been superseded by 2.16.6-0ubuntu1. You need to upgrade your existing
version of libglib2.0 from 2.16.4-0ubuntu3 to 2.16.6-0ubuntu1, which
will allow you to install the libglib2.0-dev package.

Bug description:
Hi,

Ubuntu 8.04 hardy.
Sorry for just putting unknown down as the package but it's not a bug in a
particular package. If this is the wrong place to report this problem,
please could someone point me to the correct place.
I'm trying to install QT-Designer (for use with Eclipse) which has a
dependency on libglib2.0-dev. Synaptic, apt and Adept all find
libglib2.0-dev_2.16.4-0ubuntu3_i386.deb as the latest version but this is
not present in http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/g/glib2.0 so I
get a 404 back and hence can't install QT. There are other versions but I
can't point apt at them. I've had a look in a couple of other mirrors and it
is also not present there.

Cheers

Steve
